Situated on a major tectonic uplift in the Eastern Sirte Basin, the Amal-Nafoora High. Four oilfields have been discovered on this uplift – Amal, Rakb, Augila, and Naffora. The Nafoora oilfield was surveyed by AGOCO company as a 2D seismic Survey in directional groups. this study used 35 seismic lines in different directions with 6 wells.
A major oil and gas project located in Libya's Sirte Basin, operated by the Waha Oil Company, a subsidiary of the NOC. The project focuses on the development of key fields like North Gialo and NC 98, which are expected to significantly increase production offering substantial exploration potential and contributing to the country's energy production and economic growth.
An offshore oil field in Libya, located in Block C 137, about 100 kilometers off the coast in 90 meters of water depth.
Operated by Total, the field uses a platform with 10 production wells connected to the Farwah, a FPSO vessel with a storage capacity of over 900,000 barrels. Once fully operational, the field is expected to produce around 40,000 barrels of oil per day. This development reinforces Total's presence in Libya, where it also operates the Mabruk field and holds significant interests in other fields.
