National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman, Farhat Bengdara, recently met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, His Excellency Nicola Orlando, along with Martin Benedik, Head of Cooperation, and Jan Matkowski, Energy and Climate Program Manager at the EU delegation.

The meeting, held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli, focused on enhancing environmental protection policies, particularly addressing strategies for reducing methane emissions. Discussions also covered plans for increasing private sector involvement in environmental initiatives.

Both parties explored potential collaborative efforts to curb methane emissions and reviewed key proposals for ambitious strategic projects aimed at improving local production and operational development, signaling a significant advancement for Libya’s energy sector.

The meeting reaffirms NOC’s dedication to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and international cooperation in driving its energy initiatives forward.
