Rabat, Morocco – 10th September 2024 – The Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) hosted a high-level delegation from the South Korean company LX INTERNATIONAL, led by Mr. Gyu Hwa Han, Chairman and CEO of LX INTERNATIONAL EUROPE. The meeting, held at ONHYM's headquarters, focused on exploring partnership and cooperation opportunities in the field of strategic substances required for the energy transition.

This meeting underscores the growing importance of collaborations between Morocco and South Korea in addressing the global demand for critical materials needed to support the shift towards renewable energy. ONHYM and LX INTERNATIONAL discussed potential synergies in the exploration, development, and supply of minerals and raw materials essential for the energy transition, including rare earth elements and other strategic substances.
